What is something you learned in the last week?

This past weekend, I got up on the roof of my townhouse to cut off low hanging branches and to clean the gutters. I had been up on the roof to clean gutters before, but never to do any other manual labor that would require being up there for an extended duration of time. I learned that it is wise to do arms and leg stretches before going up on that roof, because it is a pain to try and stretch out appropriately while all the way up there!

How would you describe your dream vacation?

My dream vacation is a two-month road trip around Europe. I have had the opportunity to visit many countries, but there are more than a few countries (Greece, Italy, Spain, Ireland) that I have always wanted to explore. I have always had an interest in studying history, so much of the vacation would be dedicated to visiting several sites around Europe.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of spending time with my wife and two daughters, one of the things I like to do in my free time is play video games. In recent months, I have been introducing my 3-year-old to the world of video games, and it has been a great journey so far. I spent a lot of time playing them when I was a kid, and I cannot wait until my youngest daughter is old enough to start wielding a controller so that she can get in on the family video game time as well!

What did you want to be when growing up?

When I was growing up, a job I wanted for a long time was to be a movie critic. Movies have always been a big part of my life, and I remember thinking how cool it must be to get paid to watch movies all day long. To this day, I consider myself a big movie nerd, and this job would have been right up my alley.

When do you feel at your happiest?

I feel happiest when listening to or playing music. I recently bought an electric guitar, and I have been having a lot of fun learning chords and experimenting with different sounds. With regards to listening to music, driving in the car for me is next to impossible without it. While at work, there is a good chance that you will see me with a pair of headphones on.

What is your favorite part about working for Synergy?

Collaboration and teamwork are some of my favorite things about working for Synergy. I have seen Synergy employees in different Task Orders working together to achieve a common goal, and it is an amazing thing! In previous jobs, I have experienced division between co-workers just because they are not working together on the same project; I have not come across this here at Synergy and I doubt I ever will.
