Sam Sarkar founded Synergy BIS in 2005 and has since guided the company to be the 13th-ranked small business in the “Washington FAST 50” technology firms.
Sam brings two decades of extensive knowledge in the fields of technology, systems operations, and strategic IT consulting, and he has proven successes in architecting and delivering pragmatic solutions through an award-winning career at Freddie Mac. He brings in a sound understanding of today’s environment of ever-tightening budgets and the constant push to maximize ROI through efficient integration strategies. He understands the value of building strategic alliances and partnerships in order to offer the best value to the customer while establishing Synergy as a potent force in the new environment.
Sam has also been doing extensive consulting in the Healthcare domain, and over the past several years, he has played key roles in DoD programs such as Bio-Surveillance and Purchase Care systems, besides helping to consolidate multiple legacy health data interfaces and participating in a modernization vision for core Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for DoD.
Prior to starting Synergy, Sam served as the Lead Engineer for multiple programs at Freddie Mac and managed multi-million dollar projects. Sam also served as senior consultant with one of the world’s leading consulting firms, Tata Consultancy Services, where he managed several turnkey projects for Hewlett Packard, Bell Northern Research Lab, and General Electric Information Systems. He holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
