Sr. Solutions Engineer

What are some items on your bucket list?

In the short term, I would like to try skydiving. Long term, I think it would be cool to buy several acres of land and design a house to be built.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would just say not to worry about all the small details and just go with the flow. Focus on the big picture, and the rest will just sort itself out.

What, in your opinion, has been the most important innovation/invention you have witnessed in your lifetime?

I am very intrigued by the SpaceX Starship development and launches. It’s hard to say it’s the most important innovation out there, as it is still in development, but the concept is big and it’s exciting to consider what may come of it in the future.

What gets you out of bed each morning?

Usually my alarm, or sometimes my dog, Ash. Either way, when I sign onto work, I look forward to being able to work beside many of my friends. I find great value in the fact that the people I spend my evenings and weekends with are the same people I work with.

What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?

If I were to win the lottery, I would actually take most of the winnings and invest it. I am big into passive income and often find myself reading up on financial news. Mostly, I tend towards looking at dividend and growth stocks, however, I do have some interest in real estate as well.

Do you have a motto or personal mantra?

I have found that volunteering with the fire department has taught me many life lessons that have also come in handy in my work. One lesson I’ve learned is to “learn the job of the person before and after you, as you never know when you’re going to need it.”

For example, I may be a developer, but I pride myself in my knowledge of roles such as database administrator (DBA) and application administrator (AA). I may not be the most efficient in those roles compared to some of my other teammates, but if the need arose tomorrow, I could step into those positions and ensure the continued success of the team.

What is an ability you wish you had?

I mean, it would be awesome to be able to fly, but since that seems to be a pretty commonly shared dream, I’m going to go with the ability to easily learn anything. For example, I think it would be great to be able to learn how to play the guitar in a week or pick up a new language with ease.

Which of Synergy’s core values (Leadership, Excellence, Communication, Inclusivity) means the most to you and why?

I would say Leadership means the most to me. While it’s often associated with project success, I believe its significance runs much deeper—influencing both personal and career development. A remarkable leader collaborates with their team, never stops learning, and encourages continuous improvement of those around them. Looking back on my own career, I think of various leaders that I can thank for building me up. Knowing the impact they’ve had on me, I strive to do the same for my colleagues.
