Since joining Synergy at the start of 2020 as a graphic designer and marketing technician, Mirais has focused her efforts on website maintenance, the design of graphics, and improvement of our customers’ user experience.
After a long year and a half of remote work and physical separation due to COVID, Synergists gathered for their annual picnic to spend time with all the new and familiar teammates along with friends and families. In many cases, the picnic proved itself an opportunity to put faces to the many new names that have joined us while working out of the office. Several employees even flew in from out-of-state in order to spend the day with the team.
The picnic was held at Algonkian Park in Sterling, VA, and Synergists enjoyed fine weather near a spacious, shaded pavilion while catching up and playing games like cornhole and volleyball. Meanwhile, families with little ones found facepainting and a balloon animal artist to entertain them throughout the afternoon.
The event was catered by Brickmakers BBQ, who provided a wide variety of inviting entrees. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, and a veggie burger option were all available, as well as a range of side dishes and treats. For dessert, Ben & Jerry’s showed up to supply a short and sweet menu of ice cream, even including a dairy-free option so all could enjoy.
As a fun way of expressing gratitude for the team, raffle tickets were provided to all present Synergists. After lunch, raffle prizes were announced and given out, including items such as an espresso machine, Amazon Echo Dot, Fire Tablet, Nutribullet, and many more.
The picnic was a big hit and hopefully the precedent for many more to come! Many thanks to our HR team for coordinating this fun and relaxing event for the company.
