Application and Operations & Maintenance Lead

What is your title at Synergy, and can you give us a gist of your responsibilities?

I am the Application and Operations & Maintenance Lead on my team’s project at Synergy. My job is to provide support for all internal and custom applications. I also maintain all database and application servers.

What are your hobbies?

In my youth, I played high school and semi-professional soccer. Now, to give back to the community, I spend my free time coaching soccer to kids ages 5–18. I have been coaching for the past 13 years.

Do you have a motto or personal mantra?

Never back down from any challenges. Find your way and make it to the finish line.

What places have you lived in? Which was your favorite place to live and why?

After graduating from college, I lived in Montreal for 5 years. I moved to the United States in 1986 and have lived here for over 20 years. My favorite place of all time, however, will always be the Caribbean. Absolutely nothing beats its warmth and peaceful, clear water.

What is an ability you wish you had?

I wish I had a greater ability to provide guidance for the less fortunate. Having this ability would give me even more opportunities to better serve my community.

What is your favorite sport? What do you enjoy about it?

My favorite sport is soccer, but l really enjoy playing many different sports! Some of my other personal favorites are billiards/pool, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and darts. I love anything that allows me to get up and move.

What advice would you have for prospective Synergy employees?

Always think outside the box. Satisfying the customer becomes that much easier when you can challenge conventions in order to provide a better solution.

My second piece of advice is to realize that challenges will come your way. Accept these challenges, overcome the hurdles, and never back down from reaching the goal.
