What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to a lot of bands whose names involve animals. I wish I was kidding. This includes a lot of folk rock (Dr. Dog, Fruit Bats, Fleet Foxes), psychedelic rock (Tame Impala, Chad Vangaalen), and some classic rock for good measure (Queen, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, etc.).

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy playing my guitar, kayaking, biking, watching surreal movies, and listening to audiobooks of 90’s fantasy novels. I also enjoy playing video games—so much so that I have been working on making one with a friend every weekend for several years.

Do you have a favorite movie line?

“Instead of trying to defeat the Maze, we need to complete the maze.”
“We’re not just doing that because it rhymes.”
“Well how about ‘instead of trying to diminish it… you guys help me finish it’?”

Do you have a favorite board/video/card game? What do you enjoy about it?

I have played many video games, but Gris (2018) is one of the few that made me feel more than triumph for overcoming a challenge. It works like a standard platform game, but I found the artwork and music to be particularly breathtaking.

What are some items on your bucket list?

Besides finishing the video game that my friend and I are developing, I also want to try professional voice acting someday.

What advice do you have for prospective Synergy candidates?

Synergy genuinely values people with a diverse skillset, and they also create a great place to develop and pick up new skills. Take it from a Proposal Coordinator and Functional Analyst also acting as a SCRUM Master and video editor—you’ll learn a lot by investing your time here.
